History of Scullcap
Scullcap is a medicinal plant in the mint family, that has been used for centuries. It is native to Asia and North America, where it has been used in Chinese medicine and by the Native Americans for its health benefits. The name skullcap comes from the fact that its shape resembles a medieval helmet. Skullcap also is sometimes called mad dogweed because it can also be used to treat rabies in dogs. In more recent times scullcap is still widely used in Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, and still by the Native Americans.
